imagesHurling 2011

The hurling season is in full swing and both school teams are enjoying success. The A team is unbeaten so far while the B team are through to the next round of the cup.
All classes from second to sixth are busy playing the class league matches with our city rivals.

Hurling 2010CHAMPIONS!
The famine is over! For the first time since 1998, De La Salle are the county hurling champions. In an outstanding display of teamwork and talent, our hurling heroes overcame a determined St. Canice’s team in Nowlan Park on Tuesday. Captained by Shane O’ Shaughnessy and inspired by a man of the match display from Tadhg O’ Dwyer, De La Salle ensured that the result was never in doubt and emerged victorious with a score line of 3-11 to 2-7. The champion school in a champion county! Great credit is due to teachers Mr. Power, Mr. McGlynn and the evergreen Mr. Ruth for their great coaching over the years.

And the heroes are . . . . . . .Richie Stapleton, Patrick Kennedy, Ben Devlin, Shane Donohue, Shane O Shaughnessy, Jack Butler, Noah Canty, Tadhg O Dwyer, Andrew Parsons, Shane Stapleton, William Spencer, Christian McGrath, Nathan Donoghue, Naimul Hussein, Liam Rafter, Eoin Wall, James Walton, Aaron Kelly, Andy Whelan.
